“The Teeth Poem”

O fluorite !
Green and purple in color-
And sometimes gray or white.
I brush my teeth of calcium
With paste made of Fluoride.

O the similarity
Calcium and fluoride, dear fluorite.
You’re both O so pretty
– you and my bite.

But you are more lovely
For that of color and softness
And I think of your duality
For you are composed of both.
My teeth do not compare to thee.

While my teeth may be harder
Your character is strong,
As you are transparent in nature.
Unlike you, my teeth have spoken many wrongs.

Maybe in another life
My teeth could bond with fluoride
But for now, I’m struck with strife
For they can’t compare to you
Not for as long as I live or after I have died.
